December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Today, Aztelekom LLC, owned by the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport, and the EBRD have signed a loan agreement in the amount of $50 million (AZN 85 million).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry that the document was signed by Aztelecom CEO Klaus Muller and EBRD managing director for Eastern Europe & the Caucasus Matteo Patron.

The loan will consist of two tranches of $25 million each. The EBRD funds will be used to finance introduction of the most modern broadband infrastructure in more than 280,000 households in districts of Azerbaijan.

The main goal is to expand the coverage area of the broadband access network in Azerbaijan and improve the quality of telephone communication and Internet in districts.
