December 29, Fineko/abc.az. With the purpose to avoid price manipulation amid the growing demand for products that occupy the main place in population’s consumer basket before the holidays, the State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision & Consumer Market Control under the Economy Ministry has appealed to business entities.

ABC.AZ reports that the appeal says that economic entities must provide consumers with accurate and reliable information about prices for the goods and services they offer. All products offered for sale must have a clearly designed price tag with the name of the product, its type, price and date.

The requirement to pay an amount different from that indicated on the product is a violation of consumer rights.

For deceiving consumers about the size, weight, cost, as well as consumer properties or quality of goods (services) by persons selling goods or providing services to the public, individuals are punished with a fine of 350-500 manats, officials – 1,500-2,000 manats, legal entities – 4,000-6,000 manats.
