Azerbaijan and Ukraine intend to realize joint tourism projects

Kiev has hosted the first joint meeting on tourism between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

At the meeting Deputy Culture & Tourism Minister of Azerbaijan Nazim Samedov said that tourism has turned out into one of the priority directions of the economy and there are wide opportunities for its development that are now being used.

"In 2016, Azerbaijan was visited by more than 54,000 Ukrainian citizens, but this figure does not reflect the real potential," the deputy minister said.

Ukraine’s Economic Development Minister Mikhail Tytarchuk, in his turn, stressed the importance of developing cooperation in the tourism sector, in particular exchange of experience, staff training and joint projects for the promotion of tourism potential of both countries.
