McDonald’s intends to exit Kazakhstan

January 5, Fineko/abc.az. McDonald's Corp is set to abandon Kazakhstan as disruptions triggered by the Ukraine crisis have left the nation without a substitute for Russian meat supplies.

ABC.AZ reports that among the main reasons for the possible termination of the operation of the American fast food restaurant chain in the republic are interruptions in the supply of food.

McDonald's management, after the outbreak of the Russian war in Ukraine, banned local company Food Solutions KZ LLP, which owns 24 McDonald's restaurants, from buying meat cutlets in Russia.

The management of the Kazakh company could not restructure the supply chain, since the purchase of products in Europe and its delivery at higher prices would lead to restaurants in Kazakhstan operating at a loss.
