January 5, Fineko/abc.az. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the possibility of exporting gas to Pakistan and Afghanistan is under consideration.

ABC.AZ reports that Russia, which has strained relations with Europe, is looking for new markets and has the opportunity to export gas to Pakistan in transit through the territory of Azerbaijan.

Russia and Iran can do this through gas exchange (swap operation). Russia, using Azerbaijan's gas infrastructure, can transport gas to the Southern Region of Iran, in return Iran will supply the same volume of gas to Pakistan.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oudji said that official Tehran can get financial return from participating in this process and eliminate the gas problem of the southern regions.

Azerbaijan, in addition to receiving transit revenues from gas exports, is increasing transit opportunities and diversification of its gas.
