January 6, Fineko/abc.az. The government of Azerbaijan forecasts wheat production at the level of 2.019 million tons for 2023, and in 2026 this figure will reach 2.167 million tons. Thus, in 2023-2026, wheat production will increase by 7.3%.

ABC.AZ reports that according to government forecasts, our country’s wheat production will grow up to 2.104 million tons in 2024 and up to 2.144 million tons in 2025.

As a whole, in 2023 Azerbaijan’s grain production is projected at the level of 3.646 million tons and in 2026 – 3.98 million tons. That is, in 2023-2026, grain production will increase by 9.2%.

According to forecasts, the largest growth is expected in the production of fruits and berries.

In particular, for 2023, the production of fruits and berries is projected at the level of 1.324 million tons, in 2024 – 1.425 million tons, in 2025 – 1.518 million tons, in 2026 – 1.618 million tons. In 2023-2026, the production of fruits and berries in Azerbaijan will grow by 20.5%.

Vegetable production for 2023 is forecasted at the level of 1.97 million tons. In 2024, production volumes will increase up to 2.065 million tons, in 2025 up to 2.165 million tons, and in 2026 up to 2.27 million tons. In general, vegetable production in Azerbaijan will grow by 15.3% in 2023-26.

Also, according to government forecasts, potato production is expected to grow by 18% in 2023-26: in 2023 – 1.143 million tons, in 2024 – 1.207 million tons, in 2025 – 1.28 million tons, in 2026 – 1.35 million tons.
