Every third company in Russia reduces number of employees

17:58 - 6.01.2023

January 6, Fineko/abc.az. 33% of Russian companies recorded reduction in the number of employees in 2022.

ABC.AZ reports that these results were obtained during a HeadHunter survey among employers.

The study involved 256 companies with different numbers of employees — from 50 to 1,000 people. Mostly large companies have faced layoffs of employees.

It follows from the survey that for large companies, the outgoing year as a whole turned out to be more unsuccessful than for medium and small enterprises. Three-quarters of representatives of the largest firms see the negative impact of sanctions, special operations, partial mobilization and other events of 2022 on their business.

Also, about half of employers (46%) believe that the events of this year have affected their company much more than the pandemic and the restrictions that followed it. Another 23% believe that the effect is about the same, and only for 12% the events of two years ago turned out to be more significant.
