June 13, Fineko/abc.az. The State Customs Committee (SCC) is expanding cooperation with journalists.

SCC chair Safar Mehdiyev stated during seminar "Azerbaijan Customs - Today & Tomorrow's Challenges" organized for journalists that a special group will assess activity of the Committee.

"Every year, customs checkpoints serve about 5.4 million people. This sphere is not only interesting and significant, but also requires great responsibility. It would be expedient to create a group of specialized journalists to assess Committee’s activity. Journalists will be able not only at our invitation, but also on their own initiative to observe the activities of the Committee and even a certain part of the day to work as customs officers," Mehdiyev said.

He pointed out that the SCC organizes special courses for journalists in order to deepen their knowledge in the field of customs legislation.
