January 16, Fineko/abc.az. "In 2022, Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) transported 5.136 million passengers (84% more versus 2021). Most of this figure (5.8 million) accounted for transportation along the Absheron Ring railway line," ABC.AZ was informed at ADY.

Last year the resumption of traffic in direction of Baku-Ganja-Baku was ensured, additional trains were launched in connection with the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day and the New Year.

ADY added that a large amount of work was carried out during the year to update or overhaul the rolling stock. Ten FLIRT-type passenger trains purchased by ADY are to be delivered to Baku in 2023-2024.

"The new trains will make significant contribution to more intensive and high-quality organization of passenger transportation on the Absheron Ring Railway and the districts."
