February 8, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has approved the amendments to the Law on Health Insurance.

He informs that in accordance with the changes, the creation of a mechanism for financing compulsory health insurance will begin in 2024, and not in 2023, as previously assumed.

The co-financing mechanism means a part of the losses or damage resulting from an insured event that is not covered by the MHI insurance and paid by the policyholder.

Thus, according to the rules currently in force, the insured with compulsory medical insurance had to apply for primary health care in order to use this service, and use subsequent care based on their referral.
