February 21, Fineko/abc.az. In many universities in Turkiye, except for the earthquake zone, classes were either suspended or transferred to a remote form. For this reason, Azerbaijani students studying in a fraternal country began to come to our country. However, the high cost of air tickets has created difficulties for students.

Ulvi Rustamkhanli, who studies at Yildiz Technical University, says that they were unable to take advantage of early bookings due to force majeure. Therefore, many of them have difficulties returning to our country.

Mahbuba Guliyeva, a student at Izmir Katip Celebi State University, also states that the current prices do not match their budget.

ABC.AZ reports that according to MP Jeyhun Mammadov, similar to world practice, benefits should be introduced for the transportation costs of students studying both within the country and abroad.

The MP noted that this issue is also being discussed in parliament.

Education expert Kamran Asadov said that because of the fact that 185,000 student dormitories will be provided to citizens affected by the earthquake, problems with the placement of students in the fraternal country will increase.

In response to a request from the Ministry of Science and Education, it was stated that the issue was within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It should be noted that 26,700 Azerbaijani students are currently studying in Turkiye.
