February 27, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 10 years, the average monthly salary of teachers has increased 3-fold, ABC.AZ quotes Science & Education Minister Emin Amrullayev as saying this at a briefing.

He noted that with the latest increase, the average monthly salary of teachers reached 790 manats: “We expect that in two or three years the average monthly salary of teachers will exceed 1,000 manats. Currently, the salary of one of the 4 teachers exceeds 1,000 manats.”

"In Azerbaijan, 52% of teachers receive salaries ranging from 500 to 1,000 manats. 29,423 teachers are paid 1,000 – 1,500 manats, 3,103 teachers receive 1,500 – 2,000 manats and 216 teachers - more than 2,000 manats," the minister added.

Since 1 February 2023 teachers' salaries have increased by 10%.
