Two billionaires made an offer to buy a controlling stake in Yandex

May 19, Fineko/abc.az. Yandex Corporation has received an offer from Russian billionaires Vladimir Potanin and Vagit Alekperov to buy a controlling stake in the company.

ABC.AZ reports that company's Russian assets are estimated at about $7 bn.

Sources claim that the board of Dutch-based parent company Yandex N.V. will discuss this proposal next week, during a meeting in Dubai.

At that, it is reported that the final decision may not be made at the meeting. Representatives of all three parties declined to comment.

Vladimir Potanin and Vagit Alekperov expect to receive at least 51% of Yandex shares. Their price ranges from $7 bn to $7.5 bn.
