Rate of arrivals in Azerbaijan from CIS countries has increased - Report

May 22, Fineko/abc.az. Compared with Jan-Apr 2022, the number of arrivals from the CIS countries increased by 1.9 times up to 213,400 people, the EU member states by 1.7 times up to 27,600 people, the Persian Gulf countries by 4% up to 76,200 people.

ABC.AZ reports that 33.7% of foreigners and stateless persons traveled by rail and by road, 64.8% by air, and 1.5% by sea.

The quantity of Azerbaijani citizens who went abroad for the past 4 months increased by 23.2% versus Jan-Apr 2022 up to 493,100 people.

The number of Azerbaijani citizens who left for Russia grew 1.8-fold, Georgia by 41.6%, Türkiye by 5.5%, and the number of visitors to Iran decreased by 26.5%. At that, 38.9% of the total number of citizens of the country who went abroad visited Türkiye, Russia - 24.1%, Georgia - 9.4%, Iran - 7.8%, other countries - 19.8%. 69.6% of those who left the country are men, and 30.4% are women.

Over Jan-Apr 2023, 29.5% of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries travelled by rail and by road, 67.8% by air, 2.7% by sea.
