AZN 977.4 million allocated for compulsory medical insurance of population

May 24, Fineko/abc.az. Last year, AZN 977.4 million were allocated from the State Budget for compulsory medical insurance of the population.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Draft Law on the Execution of the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022.

The draft says that over the past 5 years, that is, in 2018, the share of healthcare expenditures in the State Budget expenditures increased by 1.3 percentage points compared with 2022, and in absolute terms by AZN 708 million, or 2-fold.

The State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance accounts for 79.2% or AZN 1.122 bn of healthcare expenses used in the reporting year, which is AZN 78 million or 7.5% more than in 2021. Of those funds, AZN 977.4 million were allocated for compulsory medical insurance of the population at the expense of the State Budget, AZN 143.3 million for state programs and measures in the field of healthcare and AZN 1.9 million for expenses related to the re-equipment of the medical and diagnostic equipment of the oncological clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University.
