May 24, Fineko/abc.az. In a sense, I accept the comments about the forecasts. But none of the forecasts of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund justify themselves. Including by country...

ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev stated about this during the discussion of the Bill on the Execution of the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022 at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

The deputy minister noted that the wars that took place last year give grounds to say that reality cannot be predicted at any level.

He also touched the theme of inflation: "I accept the idea of holding hearings on inflation. Inflation in food products is caused by the fact that our main partners in this area are Russia and Kazakhstan. Restrictions and prohibitions are currently in effect in this market. The structure of imports from Türkiye to Azerbaijan consists of pharmaceutical products, mechanical engineering products, etc. Inflation in Türkiye exceeded 70% last year, which leads to an increase in prices for products coming to us. Last year, there was significant growth in the construction, tourism and transportation sectors, and tax revenues in this area were high."
