ONS: Inflation in the UK slows to 8.7%

May 24, Fineko/abc.az. The annual inflation rate in the UK continued to decline.

For the first time since August 2022, the consumer price index fell below the psychological mark of 10%, making up 8.7% year-on-year.

ABC.AZ reports that such data is brought in the report of the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS).

ONS informs that the key inflation indicator, which does not include prices for energy, foods, alcohol and tobacco products, rose in April by 6.8% year-on-year, the highest indicator since March 1992.
