Event devoted to Southern Gas Corridor held in Washington


June 28, Fineko/abc.az. An event dedicated to the Southern Gas Corridor was held at Washington-based HQ of BP within the framework of the 27th World Gas Conference.

The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan reports that the event was attended by members of the US Administration, congressmen and senators, reps of the diplomatic corps, diplomats, businessmen, as well as reps of leading think tanks.

BP’s CEO Bob Dudley, who opened the event, spoke about the importance of the Southern Gas Corridor and the work done. He stressed that this project was implemented thanks to far-sighted policy and strong political will of the Azerbaijani President.

In his speech, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stressed the role of partnership and cooperation in the implementation of this project. He thanked the US government for the support and praised the role of BP in delivering the project on time.

Assistant Secretary of State (Energy Resources) Frank Fannon thanked Azerbaijan and all partners involved in the implementation of this large-scale energy project.
