State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Sources of Energy and Caspian European Club expanding cooperation

Chairman of the State Agency Akim Badalov has received a delegation of the Caspian European Club headed by the First Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Club Telman Aliyev.

The meeting discussed the possibilities of expansion of bilateral cooperation, the activity of the Caspian European Club and key aspects of development of alternative and renewable field.

One of the discussed issues was also the possibility of shifting distant dwelling settlements, as well as large cities, social facilities (hospitals, schools), public transport, subway and objects bearing strategic significance to alternative and renewable sources of energy.   This issue will be addressed on a legislative and government levels, as well as discussed with the private business in terms of creation of the favorable investment climate for attraction of foreign investments and technologies into this area. The meetings in such format with the similar structures will be continued. Within the framework of the session to be held next week with participation of heads and representatives of public and private companies, as well as local and foreign experts, a special report will be prepared for its submission to His Excellency President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Caspian European Club Ilham Aliyev.

Telman Aliyev thanked the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Sources of Azerbaijan for the attention and cooperation with the Caspian European Club.

He expressed the hope that the bilateral cooperation will promote solution of problems in the field of alternative and renewable sources of energy, and the Caspian European Club would, in turn, make all efforts with regard to suggestions for maintaining the momentum of active dialogue between business and State Agency.

At the end of the meeting which lasted for 3 hours and 15 minutes, the parties reached an agreement on creation of the working group which shall promptly address problems, requests and suggestions of the member companies of Caspian European Club, Caspian American Club and Caspian European Club, associated with alternative and renewable sources of energy.

The Caspian European Club, which brings together more than 5,000 member companies and organizations from 70 countries around the world, was established in June 2002 with the support of the largest oil and gas companies working in the Caspian-Black Sea region and with the active involvement of the Caspian Energy International Media Group.

The Caspian American Club (established on 24 December 2016) and Caspian Asian Club (26 January 2018) will be managed by the Members of the Board of the Caspian European Club for 2 years. All companies that join the Caspian European Club as members get an automatic membership within the Caspian American Club, Caspian Asian Club and vice-versa.

His Excellency President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is the Chairman of the Caspian European Club.
