Azerbaijan to give a loan to Iran to finish construction of a section of rail line Rasht-Astara

The presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran are to discuss questions of transport corridor North-South at a tripartite summit in Tehran.

Foreign Affairs Minister Elmar Mammadyarov of Azerbaijan has stated that the meeting will be held on 1 November.

"The meeting of presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran will take place in Tehran and will focus on the development of transport corridor North-South,” the FM said.

He added that the sides will also cover issues of Azerbaijan’s loan for the Iranian party for completion of construction of the remaining section of railway line Rasht-Astara within the North-South Project.
