Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister held talks with his Russian counterpart

July 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijani delegation led by Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev is on a visit to Moscow.

In the course of the visit Economy Minister and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Russia Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission Shahin Mustafayev met with Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Co-Chair of the Commission Maxim Oreshkin.

At the meeting it was noted that Russia is one of the main trade partners of Azerbaijan, and trade turnover between the two countries increased by 22% in 2017. The dynamics of growth of trade relationships continued in the 1st half of 2018, and both states’ trade turnover during this period increased by 20%. Russia ranks first in the export of non-oil products from Azerbaijan. In order to promote brand Made in Azerbaijan, export missions to Russia have been organized. Azerbaijan has invested more than $1 bn in the Russian economy, while Russia has invested $4 bn in the economy of Azerbaijan.

The sides also covered the matters of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and the upcoming events of the bilateral agenda - the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum in Ganja.
