Nar has announced the results of Q2 2018

July 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerfon LLC (Nar™) has announced the results of the secondquarter of 2018. According to results, during the mentioned period the company has continued the high growth dynamics, demonstrated during the first quarter of the year.

Paying a special attention to expansion of its network infrastructure, Nar has installed 74 3G and 161 4G base stations on the country’s territory. During the second quarter of the current year, Nar has launched 5 new services for its customers (Exchange, Free WhatsApp, Turbo button, Roaming minutes for Full package and Additional minutes. Also, the operator has held 3 campaigns (Republic day, ‘Ramazan’ and Weekend campaign). As a result, the mobile operator’s subscriber base has increased by 6% when compared to the same quarter of the last year. Currently, the number of Nar subscribers has surpassed 2.1 million.

The CEO of Azerfon LLC Gunnar Pahnke has provided his comments with regard to the results of the second quarter: “We are very satisfied with the development dynamics of the second quarter. Notable increase of the customer base and the growth rate of the mobile data usage in Baku, and especially in the regions, are our main achievements in the second quarter of the current year. We will work on maintainingthe growth rate and achieving even higher results by the end of this year.”

As a result of provision of high quality mobile internet through the newly installed 4G base stations of Nar, mobile data usage in Nar network has increased by 65%, when compared to the same period of the last year. This indicator is 60% in Baku and Absheron region. The growth tendency was even higher in the regions,where the growth rate was 67% thus surpassingthe capital.

Paying special attention to expansion of 4G network, Nar has installed network in 22 more regions, such as Agdash, Dashkesan, Ganja, Imishli, Kurdamir, Lankaran, Lerik, Masalli, Mingachevir, Gakh, Gazakh, Gabala, Salyan, Shabran, Sheki, Shamakhi, Shamkir, Tovuz, Ujar, Yardimli, Yevlakh and Zagatala. Thanks to expansion of 4G network the usage of smartphones in regions has also increased.

As for the voice calls, the global tendency of decreasing volumes of this service, has not affected Nar; Just as in the first quarter, the volume of voice calls in the Nar network has remained stable, when compared to the last year.

Today the expanded network of Narcovers 93% of the country’s territory and serves more than 2.1 million subscribers with more than 6500 base stations. In 2017, Nar has increased the quality of voice services by introducing ‘HD-Voice’ service and on the same year Nar network has demonstrated the highest results in the country, in terms of provision of mobile voice services, according to mobile network benchmarking tests, held by an independent international “P3 Communications” company. Testing methodology was based on customer experience related to usage of range of services.
