August 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Minister Innam Kerimov has met with representatives of large companies operating in the agricultural sector.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture reports that the meeting involved reps of Azersun Holding, Pasha Holding, Gilan Holding, CTC Holding, AS Group Investment, Modern Group, Agrarco, AzProtein Foods Group, Seba Qrup. During the meeting the sides covered such questions as directions of development of the agricultural sector and exchanged views on the implementation of joint activities.

"A proposal to create an Agricultural Advisory Council with the participation of specialized large entities was made at the meeting. Minister Kerimov backed the initiative and stated that establishment of such a Council will help identify the problems of entrepreneurs, systematize proposals from them and solve them," the Ministry said in a statement.

Following the results of the elections Azersun Holding’s president Abdulbari Gozel has been elected the chairman of the Agrarian Advisory Council. Araz Ismayilov, the head of the Department for Work with Farmers, Cooperatives & Associations of the Ministry of Agriculture, has been elected the head of the Secretariat of the Council.

The Regulation on the Council will be drafted within one month. There are no restrictions on joining the Council.
