Foreign currency deposits fell by over AZN 900 million for Jan-Jul 2018

September 3, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has published financial statistics for the first 7 months of 2018.

According to the CBA, as of 31 July 2018 volume of cash in circulation (M0) in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 7.38 bn that showed an increase by AZN 207.6 million (2.89%) in July, and a decline by AZN 108.9 million (1.45%) for Jan-Jul of the year.

At the end of July monetary unit M1 (M0+checks, demand deposits, balances in national currency on settlement accounts) totaled AZN 11.036 million - growth for July by AZN 380.8 million (3.57%), and growth of AZN 492.7 million (about 4.67%) since early 2018.

As of 31 July 2018 monetary unit M2 (M1+term deposits) amounted to AZN 13.347 bn - an increase of AZN 362.5 million (2.79%) for July, and a rise of AZN 880.8 million (7.07%) for Jan-Jul.

Money supply M3 (M2+savings deposits, certificates and government bonds) in Azerbaijan as of 31 July amounted to AZN 22.728 bn – a rise of AZN 44.4 million in July and a decline of AZN 44.1 million (0.19%) for Jna-Jul 2018.

Deposits in foreign currency by 31 July 2018 reached AZN 9.38 bn – decline of AZN 318.2 million for July (3.28%) and fall of AZN 924.9 million (8.97%) for Jan-Jul of the year.
