Organizing Committee of Baku Forum on E-Trade holds its next meeting

September 14, Fineko/abc.az. Organizing Committee of Baku Forum on E-Trade held its next meeting.

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Ministry of Taxes, Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Committee, the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Business, the Central Bank, the Financial Markets Supervisory Chamber, as well as portal Azexport, the Regional Innovative Technologies Academy, VialonServis and ALbuket.az. took part in the meeting.

The head of the Organizing Committee, First Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Ali Abdullayev noted that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies is carrying out consistent work in order to develop electronic trade in the country, strengthen partnership between public and private entities in this direction. He noted that the work in this direction is carried out on the basis of the goals for the development of electronic trade, reflected in the "National Strategy for the Development of the Information Society in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2014-2020", approved by Decree No.359 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 2, 2014.

"In connection with the holding an international event, the Baku E-Trade Forum 2018 (BEF-2018) on September 24-25, 2018 with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the European Union, an Organizing Committee consisting of representatives of appropriate structures was established by the order of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. Over the past period, the Organizing Committee has done a lot of work in order to make forum interesting and effective. The Baku E-Trade Forum is the first international event in the field of electronic trade organized in this country on this scale. I believe that the event will contribute to the development of electronic trade," the First Deputy Minister said.

It was noted that over 300 local and foreign representatives had already registered for the forum. Also, a number of interesting events will take place within the framework of the forum.

Then member of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Executive Director of the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies Azer Bayramov informed the meeting participants about the work done, the program of the forum, foreign guests, speakers, partners and participants.

He highlighted that within the forum, which will bring together leading representatives of international development agencies, the private sector and digital platforms, a special session (master class) of well-known international experts will be held to develop e-trade skills.

Within the framework of the Baku Forum on E-Trade to be held at the Fairmont Baku Hotel, companies and organizations specializing in electronic trade, online payment platforms, e-trade solutions, will demonstrate their products. This will enable forum participants to familiarize themselves with various innovations and establish new business ties.

Within the framework of the meeting, issues and proposals of the members of the Organizing Committee were also discussed.

The proposals were included in the agenda of the Organizing Committee.
