Works on Babek Avenue of Baku to be ended in October


September 17, Fineko/ The State Motor Road Agency plans to finish reconstruction of Babek Avenue in Baku this October.

According to the Agency, the laying of two layers of asphalt pavement on 6 km of the road has been completed to date and work is underway on the remaining 3 km, while the total length of the road is 9 km.

"The laying of new asphalt concrete pavement is planned on the area of 323,609 sq m," the Agency said.

In addition, new underground communication lines, including rain sewers, and new lighting systems are being installed as part of the reconstruction. Also, the roadway in one direction will be expanded up to 16 m.

"Full completion of all reconstruction works is scheduled for October 2018," the SMRA said in a statement.

By the Presidential Order from 15 August 2018, the Agency received AZN 20.1 million from the State Budget for reconstruction of Babek Avenue in Baku.
