Baku metro station Khatayi closes for repairs

September 19, Fineko/abc.az. Baku Metro Company is closing metro station Khatayi for repairs and installation works starting from 27 September.

BMC reports that all the planned works are scheduled for completion until 10 August 2019.

"In connection with closure of the station, traffic of metro trains in direction of Jafar Jabbarli - Khatayi will be suspended," the Company said.

In the course of repairs BMC will replace the old escalators, whose lifetime has expired. In addition, obsolete equipment will be replaced at the station and the station lobby will undergo repairs.

"Three escalators of the station will be disassembled and instead of them four Viktoriya Tube escalators of company Thyssen Krupp Fahrtreppe (Germany) will be installed. This will enable to regulate better the traffic flow and enhance safety," BMC said in a statement.

Khatayi metro station was put into operation in 1968.

The Baku Transport Agency has published announcement for the passengers of buses #30 and #49 that in connection with temporary closure of metro station Khatayi the scheme of movement of above-mentioned buses will be temporarily changed with the purpose of ensuring the convenience of bus passengers.  
Starting from the date of closure of the metro station until the completion of repairs, the buses #30 and #49 running on the regular bus route, will move along Khojaly Avenue, Yusif Safarov Street to the last stop on 28 May Street (around the Samad Vurgun Park).
