KPMG in Azerbaijan hosted IFRS Update

September 28, Fineko/abc.az. On 28 September, KPMG in Azerbaijan hosted annual “IFRS Update” seminar at the Four Seasons Hotel in Baku.More than 70 experts, including representatives of finance and accounting functions, as well as members of internal audit functions of leading companies attended the event.
Ziya Mammadov, Audit Senior Manager at KPMG in Azerbaijan, opened the event with a welcoming speech. Grigory Uvarov, Senior Manager at Department of Professional Practice of KPMG in Russia and the CIS continued the seminar with the overview of the recent changes in IFRS. 
Grigoryspoke in detail aboutthe new standards and amendments effective from 2018 as well as about the changes taking effect in the near future. His presentation includedpractical examples on implementation of new standards such as IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers, IFRS 16 Lease and IFRS 9 Financial Instruments.
