Kazakhstan involved in insurance program of new Istanbul airport


October 4, Fineko/abc.az. Insurance company Eurasia has been invited to participate in the insurance program of the new Istanbul airport to be the world’s largest airport.

Eurasia’s executive director Samat Kabdolov has stated that the entire project was insured for €5.4 bn from all kinds of risks of physical damage, as well as a break in operation of the airport.

The new airport of Istanbul, one of the mega-projects of ruling party Justice & Development, was built with the purpose to raise Turkey’s status and boost the country's economy. It is designed for 3,500 takeoffs and landings daily. Turkey’s income is expected to increase by more than $15 bn and create more than 225,000 jobs. And the former largest airport of the country n.a. Ataturk will be used for small aviation operations.
