Iranian and Azerbaijani customs officers discuss importance of cooperation within international transport projects

October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Customs officers of Azerbaijan and Iran held a meeting on the border of two countries.

The State customs Committee (SCC) reports that the meeting was arranged on the initiative of the Iranian party and involved heads of Azerbaijani customs post ‘Bilasuvar’ Ceyhun Ibrahimov and Iranian customs checkpoint ‘Bilasuvar’ Daver Areng.

"During the meeting the sides discussed development of relationships between both states in recent years, strengthening of economic links, and growth of bilateral trade turnover. The parties noted that the location of the two countries on strategic international trade routes gives impetus to the further development of their relations," the Committee said.

The reps of the customs services of Azerbaijan and Iran also covered the questions of simplification and acceleration of international trade, acceleration of the period of customs passage of transport and people, as well as the prospects of cooperation in general.
