December 7, Fineko/abc.az. By 2030 the EU will have to obtain 32% of energy from renewable sources and achieve the "main energy efficiency goal" of 32.5%.

The EU reports that the Revised Directive, as well as the Renewable Energy Directive approved by the Council today, set new goals on energy efficiency.

"These legislative acts are part of the clean energy package, which was presented by the Commission in November 2016. Their today's adoption by the Council has become the final step. Three regulatory documents - two directives and the so–called governing regulation - should be published in the official EU Bulletin on 21 December, and should enter into force on the third day from the date of their publication," the EU says in a statement.
