December 26, Fineko/abc.az. Next year Azerbaijan is to lead the Non-Aligned Movement.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan has close and friendly relations with the absolute majority of the member states of the Eurasian Union, including in the trade and economic sphere.

"There are free trade agreements, and of course, the Russian Federation is our main trade and economic partner. There is also a free trade format, so we’ll increase the potential for cooperation. At this stage, this cooperation is more bilateral, sometimes trilateral, but not wider. Time and concrete results will show how events will develop next year. But, as a chair country of the Non-Aligned Movement, we are going to increase our role on the international arena and, of course, we’ll strive to ensure that the partner countries of Azerbaijan have the same support from our side that they provide to us," President Aliyev said.
