November 20, Fineko/abc.az. The business delegation of state unitary enterprise ‘Tajik Aluminum Company’ has made a three-day visit to the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.

The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Azerbaijan informs that within the framework of the visit the representatives of Tajik aluminium plant - State Unitary Enterprise TALCO and Azerbaijani plant DET-Al held negotiations.

"During talks an agreement on monthly supplies of 3,000 up to 7,000 tons petroleum coke for the needs of the Tajik aluminum company starting from December 2017 in return to supplies of anodes, cryolite, fluorite and secondary aluminium to Azerbaijan for DET-Al," the Embassy said.

The parties also agreed to restart on a tolling basis the idle-standing  Azerbaijan Ganja alumina refinery with raising international investments from TALCO in 2018 and subsequent deliveries on mutually beneficial terms of alumina for production of aluminium in Tajikistan.

"The sides have defined the mechanisms for acceptable tarification of transit of aluminum products through the territory of Azerbaijan for the needs of TALCO. An arrangement was reached on mutually beneficial economic cooperation in other areas. Implementation of the above-listed projects will allow increasing few-fold the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan in the nearest future,"  the Embassy said.
