During his speech the country’s leader underlined that the number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan is gradually increasing in recent years.
President Aliyev added that the rate of tourists increased by about 6% in 2018, and more than 2.85 million tourists visited our country. According to the calculations, tourists spent about $2 bn in our country.

"If I may say so, it means additional export for $2 bn. Already this figure shows significance of tourism. Those money go to the service sector, and both citizens and entrepreneurs receive benefits from that. In other words, those finances go directly to those companies that offer various services to tourists who visit districts of the country.
Our country creates all the necessary conditions for development of tourism, and the tourism industry should have many opportunities in Azerbaijan. Security and stability reign in Azerbaijan. Our people are very hospitable. Our climate is beautiful as well, we have all types of climate. The country has modern infrastructure, six international airports, modern roads, railways, and hotels.

Beautiful nature allows developing summer and winter ski resorts, sea resorts and medical tourism. For example, Naftalan has become the main tourism center. Other medical facilities are also frequently visited.
For example, many tourists visit Duzdag Therapy Centre in Nakhchivan and Galaalti Health Complex in Gusar district. We also have many historical monuments. This is also of great interest. Our geographical location is also advantageous. All these factors indicate that the tourism industry in Azerbaijan will develop very quickly," President Aliyev emphasized.
