January 31, Fineko/abc.az. Apple is going to release a new iPhone model with more powerful 3D camera next year to allow making a breakthrough in development of augmented reality technologies.

According to Bloomberg, citing a source aware of the Corporation's plans, unlike the existing 3D facial recognition camera on the iPhone X, which operates only at distance of 25 to 50 cm, the new camera will be able to create 3D images at distance of about 5 m.

It will receive this advantage thanks to the new technology of laser scanning. The previous devices used point projection, which does not work well at long distances.

The Agency's sources note that the laser camera is just one of the innovations that the Company is going to use in the new generation iPhone.
