Azerbaijan imposes temporary ban on poultry & meat import from two regions of Russia

February 1, Fineko/abc.az. The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE)  has identified the spread of Newcastle disease in the Krasnodar Krai and foot & mouth disease in Khabarovsk Krai.

The Food Safety Agency (AQTA) reports that Azerbaijan has temporarily restricted import of poultry and livestock products from a number of regions of Russia.

"OIE revealed the spread of Newcastle disease in Krasnodar Krai and foot & mouth disease in Khabarovsk Krai of Russia. In this regard, it was decided to restrict temporarily import of live poultry and poultry products from Krasnodar Krai, animals and animal products from Khabarovsk Krai," the Agency reported.

The Agency also applied to the State Customs Committee of the country for disinfection of vehicles passing through customs checkpoints, which arrived directly from Krasnodar and Khabarovsk Krai or in transit through them.
