February 8, Fineko/abc.az. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of British Petroleum’s head Robert Dudley to hold a round table of representatives of Russian and British business in Russia.

Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that the head of state also intends to meet personally with the participants of this event.

"Dudley invited President Putin to organize a round table with participation of British businessmen, heads of British companies that operate in the Russian market and have a particular relation to business in Russia. Dudley also applied with a request proposal to the Russian leader on the occasion of the meeting of the latter with the participants of such a round table. The president backed this idea and promised to do it. Now, apparently, it will take certain time to organize this work," Peskov said.

According to Peskov, the question was discussed in yesterday’s meeting of Putin and Dudley.

"The meeting was quite detailed and substantial. The president noted that BP has always enjoyed and is going to enjoy the support of the Russian authorities. The same approach is relevant for all foreign investors who, despite everything, continue their presence here and think about various new mutually beneficial projects," the Kremlin’s representative said.
