February 11, Fineko/abc.az. Russia and Saudi Arabia intend to increase mutual investments in tourism projects.

Russian Direct Investment Fund’s (RDIF) head Kirill Dmitriyev told journalists that Saudi investments in Russia will now be increased, including in Russian tourism projects.

"The Russian-Chinese-Saudi Fund will also invest in tourism in Saudi Arabia with the support of the Saudi state," he said.

Dmitriyev stressed that the Saudi side is very interested in coming of Russian tourists to the country.

"On average 6 million tourists come to Turkey (annually) and 3 million ones to Egypt. We’d like this figure to increase," the RDIF head said.

Dmitriyev also stressed that the parties will develop cooperation in the cultural sphere.

"We plan many of our most famous collectives, including the Mariinsky Theatre and others, will come more often to Saudi Arabia, including Al-Ulu," Fund’s head said.

Russia, France and a range of other states, according to Dmitriev, are at the forefront of cooperation with Saudi Arabia.

"The Kingdom, as you know, was closed for tourism. Now it opens up opportunities, including for us," he emphasized.
