February 13, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev stated about the effectiveness of tourism development as one of the types of export.

The Azerbaijani leader stated in an interview for local TV channel REAL TV that tourism is one of the types of export.

"Money received from export of farm products by Azerbaijan last year were less than from tourism. The country earned $2 bn from tourism in 2018. These finances serve to citizens, the service sector, taxes and general development. Therefore, we study experience of advanced countries and try to make the tourism industry in Azerbaijan to develop even faster. 2.8 million foreign guests visited our country last year. And this index is going to be even higher in the current year. This is a very important sphere of our economic growth,” President Aliyev said.
