Azerbaijan and Iran to sign tomorrow a contract for joint production of Scania buses

March 14, Fineko/abc.az. Baku is hosting Azerbaijan-Iran Business & Investment Forum.

Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev stated during the forum that economic links between the two countries are at the high level.

"Our countries are cooperating in various sectors of the economy, and as a result, the trade turnover between the countries increased by 74% in 2018. We cooperate in such areas as industry, agriculture, and tourism. Cooperation also expands in the field of transit transport and this cooperation has been brought up the regional level," the minister said.

He pointed out that last year alone the volume of transit traffic via transport corridor North-South increased 10-fold.

"Next year, a new road will be built to the border with Russia, similar to the road laid from Baku to the border with Iran, and then Iranian entrepreneurs will be able to deliver their goods using modern infrastructure," Mustafayev stressed.

The minister also noted that the signing of a contract for the creation of a joint venture in the Hajigabul Industrial Town for production of buses of brand Scania will be held tomorrow.
