External public debt of Azerbaijan decreased

March 14, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Finance reports that the external public debt of Azerbaijan as of 1 January of the year amounted to $8.927 bn (AZN 15.176 bn), the ratio of external debt to GDP amounted to 19.0% (AZN 79.797 bn in 2018). The debt includes contingent liabilities on loans raised on direct obligations of the government and under the state guarantee.
External public debt consists of loans from international financial institutions for infrastructure projects and financing programs, as well as securities placed on international financial markets.
