April 26, Fineko/abc.az. The 5th World Intercultural Dialogue Forum will be held in Baku on 2 and 3 May.
The matter of building a dialogue to combat discrimination, inequality and violent conflict will be at the heart of the discussion at the Forum.
The forum will consider the crucial role of intercultural dialogue as an effective strategy to strengthen human solidarity and to assist people in different communities in the fight against violence and discrimination.
The discussions will focus on three main topics:

Nada al-Nashif, UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Social Sciences & Humanities;
Miguel Angel Moratinos, High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations
Yusuf bin Ahmad al-Usaimin, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC);
Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe;
Abdulaziz Osman al-Tuwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
On 1 May the 3rd Academic Forum of UNESCO Chairs on Intercultural Dialogue will be held in Baku within the framework of the World Intercultural Dialogue Forum. The Forum theme is "Interreligious Dialogue & Governance under Conditions of Religious Diversity". The Academic Forum will be attended by UNESCO chairs, renowned external experts and members of the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on religion and development.
On 2 May, Ms. Nada al-Nashif, UNESCO Deputy Director-General for Social & Human Sciences and Mr. Abulfas Garayev, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan will deliver speech at the opening of exhibition “Silk Road through the Eyes of Young People”.
