May 1, Fineko/abc.az. Making speech at Cabinet’s meeting devoted to the results of socio-economic growth for Q1 of 2019 and the upcoming tasks, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the policy pursued in the economic and social spheres is also expressed in indicators. Thus, for the past quarter GDP increased by 3%, and this is the highest figure over the last few years. The country’s leader added that he is sure that this figure is going to rise by the end of 2019, as the work done gives a reason to assert that.

"Industrial production grew by 4.4%. This is a good indicator. But an even better indicator is that industrial production in the non-oil sector increased by 15.6%. Agriculture growth made up 3.6% and household income 5.5%. Inflation is at a low level - 2.1%. The country's economy was invested $2.8 bn. $2 bn of those investments were made in the non-oil sector of our country. Our main goal is to develop the non-oil sector. Azerbaijan’s business environment is improving, and better conditions for investments are being created. Both domestic and foreign investments are protected by the state at the proper level," the head of state emphasized.
