Russia and Turkey to create a JV to foster carriages via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars rail line

May 7, Fineko/abc.az. RZD Logistika JSC and Turkish logistics operator Pasifik Eurasia Logistics (PASIFIK EURASIA LOJISTIK DIŞ TICARET A. Ş.), a subsidiary of construction holding Pasifik, agreed to establish a joint venture to develop logistics routes for delivery of goods via Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line.

RZD Logistika reports that the relevant Memorandum was signed within the framework of the meeting of Russian Railways’ (RZD) general director and chairman of board Oleg Belozerov with the heads of railway companies of Turkey and Azerbaijan. This meeting took place in Ankara on Monday and was devoted to development of regular rail traffic via the BTK route.

"The signatures under the document were put by RZD Logistika’s first deputy general director Eduard Alyrzayev and Pacific Eurasia Logistics’ general director Fatih Nusret Dur. The parties agreed that the purpose of the JV will be further development of transport & logistics activity and trade between Russia and Turkey, and the main tasks will be to attract a cargo base in Russia and Turkey for transportation via Baku–Tbilisi–Kars corridor, as well as to provide a wide range of logistics services to customers," RZD Logistika said in a statement.
