Azerbaijan shows an interest in export of non-oil products to India

May 8, Fineko/abc.az. Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev held a meeting with newly-appointed ambassador of India to Azerbaijan Bavitlung Vanlalvavnva.

During the meeting the minister informed that following 2018 the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India increased by 84%, and at the end of 1st quarter of 2019 it increased by 66% and reached $300 million.

"Mustafayev stressed the great potential of cooperation in the spheres of industry, energy, agriculture, tourism, and stressed Azerbaijan's opportunities in the export of non-oil goods in India," the Ministry of Economy said.

The Azerbaijani minister invited Indian companies to take advantage of favorable conditions for activity in industrial parks in Azerbaijan and called on Indian companies to establish joint ventures with Azerbaijani companies.

He stressed that Azerbaijan and India have established a legal framework and are working on the preparation of an agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments.

Mustafayev informed the Indian diplomat about the projects implemented with Azerbaijan’s participation, transit opportunities and advantages of transport corridors passing through the country.
