Banks` net profit amounted to AZN 123.9 million in March

May 8, Fineko/abc.az. The balance capital of the banking sector of Azerbaijan increased by 1.7% (AZN 70.9 million) up to AZN 4.313 bn for March.

In the 1st quarter of 2019 this figure grew by 5.9% (AZN 241.9 million).

Banks’ operating profit in March totaled AZN 179.1 million and net profit AZN 123.9 million. Compared with the 2018 same term, interest income rose by 12.9% and interest income on loans by 19.5%.

30 banks operating in Azerbaijan are numbering 512 branches, 129 sub-branches, and 2,535 cash machines. In March 2019, the quantity of employees increased by 0.4% (66 people) up to 17,749 people.
