NATO Secretary General’s statement on launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea published

12:40 - 29.11.2017

November 29, Fineko/abc.az. The statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the occasion of launch of a ballistic missile by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has been published.

“I strongly condemn North Korea’s new ballistic missile test. This is a further breach of multiple UN Security Council Resolutions, undermining regional and international security. In November, I visited NATO’s regional partners, Japan and the Republic of Korea, and together we urged North Korea to refrain from further provocations, and abandon its nuclear and missile programmes. I repeat that call today. North Korea needs to re-engage in a credible and meaningful dialogue with the international community,” the statement says.

On 29 November 2017 at about 3:20 am North Korea carried out a new launch of a ballistic long-range missile. The launched missile was in flight for about 50 minutes, after which its fragments fell into the 250 km from the coast of the Northern Prefecture of Aomori, in the exclusive economic zone of Japan.
