November 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica is paying a visit to Azerbaijan currently.

President Ilham Aliyev has received FM Manuel Gonzalez Sanz of Costa Rica today.

"Bilateral relations between our two countries were built on mutual trust. The opening of our country’s embassy in Azerbaijan is a strategic decision. Costa Rica considers Azerbaijan its main partner in the region and is going to continue regional cooperation through Azerbaijan," the FM said.

In his turn, President Aliyev stressed the importance of opening of the Embassy of Costa Rica in Azerbaijan and voiced a hope that the Embassy will contribute to expansion of bilateral links and development of regional relations.

During the meeting the parties stressed that there are opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of mutual investments, trade and agriculture. The sides also exchanged views on expansion of ties in different directions.
