May 20, Fineko/abc.az. The State Statistics Committee reports that for Jan-Mar 2019 the amount of funds allocated to finance pensions and benefits increased by 3% compared to the same period of last year and reached AZN 922.3 million. 97.9% of funds accounted for pension costs.

For the first 3 months of the year AZN 19.1 million were paid to the population, of which 31.7% were paid for maternity leave, 34.2% for temporary disability, 17.4% for funerals and 16.7% for other purposes.

As of 1 April, 1,293,600 pensioners were registered at the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour & Social Protection that makes up 13.1% of the population. Of them, 58.5% receive old-age pensions, 30% disability pensions and 11.5% survivor pensions.

The average monthly amount of monthly pensions increased by 6% up to 231.5 manats compared to the same term of 2018 and amounted to 40.1% of the average monthly wage.
