UK-Azerbaijan Energy Forum held in London

May 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Energy Forum has been held in London within the framework of the 3rd meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and UK.

The main topics of the forum, chaired by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov were development of the oil and gas sector, ongoing projects, new opportunities for cooperation, as well as the measures taken in the field of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

Currently, agenda of energy cooperation between the two countries includes such projects as the Southern Gas Corridor, development of Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields at a new stage, promising block D230, Shallow Absheron and Shafag-Asiman. Joint activity in the field of renewable energy are also a top priority.

Within the forum it was stressed that UK’s experience in this area will contribute to the sector of renewable energy sources, including wind, solar and small rivers.
